We sang at the very end. (All begin singing ‘All you need is love’) That story was crazy because we met A$AP at a festival like a year ago.
Falling
Este on the bass lines in the song:
If I Could Change Your Mind was a challenge for me because it’s all fast 16th notes. Trying to make it funky without a pick was a little difficult. That and Falling are the two funkiest songs on the record. Writing those bass lines was really, really fun.
Imperialism
The band release the video for Imperialism. The video shows the group dancing in front of U.S. monuments, such as The White House, the Capitol and The George Washington Masonic Temple, interspersed with quotes from George H. W. Bush.
The new single and video IMPERIALISM builds on the group’s mission to prompt reflection contemporary society, working styles, global culture, and images of modern Japan. Provocatively shot in Washington D.C. – against backdrops of American sights like the US Capitol building and Union Station. Spontaneous moments from filming are kept as is for the video.

We were so badly burned by (The Wire) that song. We recorded it five or six times before, and hated it. One little sound can make it so f-cking cheesy.

I think each song has its own story. I don’t think there was an overarching feeling for the record. I think the overarching theme was to make it sound like a band. But the feeling really does go from song to song.

The song started with Jim’s bass. It has quite a good groove. It’s been one of our most successful singles. It’s had a lot of success overseas, particularly in Italy…It’s about finding hope through being in love with someone despite facing life’s difficulties.

It started out as a jam. We were in the studio with James Ford and we were really deeply into the recording and the vibe for the record and we were kind of burnt out and we were just like “let’s write something new.”
