When I look back at the first record, the songs I wrote about relationships on there were a bit more playing the victim kind of. I think there was a time and a place for that because that was what I was feeling at the time, but I guess now I feel a lot more positive about my personal life and I think it’s nice for me to be able to write about that as well as my bad experiences in a more assertive way.

Storms off Pan Am Games closing ceremony
West throws his mic and storms offstage at the Pan Am Games closing ceremony when the audio for the live audience stops working. According to the CBC Olympics official Twitter feed, those enjoying the broadcast version of Kanye’s performance could still hear him but his microphone cut off completely for those watching live from inside Toronto’s Rogers Centre.
Charged Up
Drake releases Charged Up, a diss track aimed at Meek Mill. The track is in response to Mill’s recent comments, which accused Drake of using a ghostwriter for his songs. The song mostly consists of Drake freestyling over a subdued beat. While the song doesn’t address Mill by name, it is undoubtedly aimed at him:

There’s no love interest in the video, it’s all me. The reason why I wanted it to feel that way is because it’s about truly feeling good about yourself. I love the sensuality. It doesn’t try to hard. It’s not in everybody’s face. It’s like when you have that feeling with someone, when you just want to feel pretty and you want to feel good.
