(You Drive Me) Crazy

Spears releases her single (You Drive Me) Crazy from her album …Baby One More Time. The video is directed by Nigel Dick. Dick:

I decided to try this idea that someone had thrown at me and they hated it — they absolutely hated it. So I jumped on the phone with Britney and she says, “Well, I now I think it should be about me in school and there be lots of hot boys around,” and that was pretty much it — oh, and a bunch of dancing. And my response was, OK.

Spears releases her single Sometimes from her album …Baby One More Time.

The best part of doing all this is when the fans are touched by you and know the words to all your songs. You get so pumped and it’s so awesome and you get so much energy.

Nothing Really Matters

The artist releases Nothing Really Matters. The song is featured on her album Ray Of Light.

I started studying the Kabbalah, which is a Jewish mystical interpretation of the Old Testament. I also found myself becoming very interested in Hinduism and yoga, and for the first time in a long time, I was able to step outside myself and see the world from a different perspective. In this song, that perspective shows how small humans are in the vast universe.

I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing

The band releases their song, I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, from their album, Armageddon: The Album. Perry:

At the time, we just didn’t have the time to settle down and do it. We were out on the road, so they brought us in to see the movie and said ‘here’s the song, this is where it fits into the movie, you can do it if you want.’ So we were in the studio within the next three days cutting it. And yeah, we do wish that we’d had a little more time, so that we could have had a shot at writing it, but it was perfect timing. The song was great, people loved it, and I don’t think people care that much who wrote it.

Ray Of Light

The artist releases her song, Ray Of Light, from her album with the same title. Co-writer, Muldoon is completely unaware that the song is recorded until a friend hears it on the radio.

I was a bit annoyed at first because Madonna wanted 30 percent just for changing a couple of lines, but then I realized that 15 percent of millions is a lot better than 100 percent of nothing. I did very well out of it. It’s been a life-changing experience. I’d say I’m financially secure for at least the next five to ten years as a result of 15 percent of one track by Madonna.
