Did Barack Obama vote to deny rights to infant abortion survivors?

In an ad produced by Susan B. Anthony List  featuring Melissa Ohden, abortion survivor

How Will You Answer?

When he was in the Illinois state Senate, Barack Obama voted to deny basic Constitutional protections for babies born alive from an abortion — not once, but four times. I know it’s by the grace of God that I’m alive today, if only to ask America this question: Is this the kind of leadership that will lead us forward — that would discard the weakest among us? (more…)

Are there tax breaks for U.S. companies that move jobs overseas

In the first debate of the 2012 Presidential election at Denver College, Barack Obama had an exchange regarding shipping of U.S. jobs overseas, also known as “outsourcing”. The Obama campaign has also criticized some of Mitt Romney’s investments for outsourcing U.S. jobs.

OBAMA: When it comes to corporate taxes, Governor Romney has said he wants to, in a revenue neutral way, close loopholes, deductions — he hasn’t identified which ones they are — but that thereby bring down the corporate rate. Well, I want to do the same thing, but I’ve actually identified how we can do that. And part of the way to do it is to not give tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas. Right now, you can actually take a deduction for moving a plant overseas. I think most Americans would say that doesn’t make sense. And all that raises revenue.

ROMNEY: The second topic, which is you said you get a deduction for taking a plant overseas. Look, I’ve been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you’re talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant. But — but the idea that you get a break for shipping jobs overseas is simply not the case.

Did the Obama administration spend taxpayer dollars on electric cars in Finland?

During an exchange during the 2012 Vice-Presidential Debate Paul Ryan accused Joe Biden of wasting taxpayer dollars on green energy projects. Ryan said:

Ryan:Look at just the $90 billion in stimulus. The vice president was in charge of overseeing this. Ninety billion in green pork to campaign contributors and special interest groups.”

Biden: It was a good idea, Moody’s and others said that this was exactly what we needed to stop this from going off the cliff. It set the conditions to be able to grow again.

Ryan: Was it a good idea to spend taxpayer dollars on electric cars in Finland, or on windmills in China?

Ryan’s claim mirrored that of an Americans for Prosperity TV ad that also blamed President Barack Obama for sending stimulus money overseas:

Tell President Obama, American tax dollars should help American taxpayers. Instead, $2.3 billion in tax credits funded jobs in Mexico, Finland and China.

Did President Obama watch the Benghazi Attack as it happened?

September-11-2012-Benghazi-Libya-they-watched-them-die-obama-libya-chris-stevens-benghazi-540x405During the weeks after the 2012 Benghazi Attack, various articles [1][2] blog post, twitter comments and memes started accusing Barack Obama of doing nothing while the Benghazi Attacks happened.

An op-ed in Forbes said:

Just one hour after the seven-hour-long terrorist attacks upon the U.S. consulate in Benghazi began, our commander-in-chief, vice president, secretary of defense and their national security team gathered together in the Oval Office listening to phone calls from American defenders desperately under siege and watching real-time video of developments from a drone circling over the site. Yet they sent no military aid that might have intervened in time to save lives.

The cover page of October 21’s New York Post also implies that President Obama was one of the “they” who let the victims die.

Is Jeep moving U.S. production to China?

On October 26, Mitt Romney told a crowd in Defiance, Ohio, that Chrysler was planning to move Jeep jobs to China.

I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state Jeep — now owned by the Italians — is thinking of moving all production to China,” Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio, home to a General Motors powertrain plant. “I will fight for every good job in America. I’m going to fight to make sure trade is fair, and if it’s fair America will win.”

On October 28, Mitt Romney’s campaign, released an ad that says Obama “sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China”.
