Brownstown Packaging Depot in Romulus transforms into an assembly plant, with 200 workers putting together boxes of food to make a holiday meal. Each basket has a 12 to 14 pound turkey, boxes of stuffing, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce and corn bread mix, canned vegetables, cake mix and frosting. Bill Dirksen, Ford’s vice president of labor relations:
It was a real eye-opener last year. It was a steady flow of people, many on foot. They were very appreciative.

Ford and Google have joined together for a non-exclusive joint venture to create self-driving cars with the technology created by Google. The venture will be legally separate from Ford, in part to shield the automaker from liability concerns.
