Elle Magazine interviews Bernal about what it was like growing up with a dad that was a director and a mother that was an actress.
Before anything, they were very young. My mom had me when she was 19 or 20. And my father was 22 or something. They were working on whatever they could, both of them aiming to be actors in theater. It was just incredible to be living the best version of The Phantom of the Opera, in a way. Me and my friends were sons and daughters of people who worked in this theater. We knew exactly what time the scene was where an actress that we fancied would come onstage. This was a very experimental theater and sometimes those scenes involved being nude. We were completely transfixed.
