McGregor to appear in Game of Thrones

The Belfast newspaper Sunday Life says McGregor has filmed a cameo for the next season of Game Of Thrones, which is filming in Belfast and other locations. It is not known what McGregor’s role will be. Source:

It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game of Thrones. He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show.

Nine new cast members revealed

During the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con, HBO plays a video clip announcing nine new members to join Season 5’s cast. The cast members include: Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; 24), Toby Sebastian, Nell Tiger Free, DeObia Oparei (Moulin Rouge!; Alien 3), Enzo Cilenti (Rome); Jessica Henwick (Silk), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), and Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean; Brazil).

Discloses credits and cast

On his blog, Martin reveals a list of the show’s credits and current cast members as released by HBO.  The announcement also mentions that the first season will consist of 10 episodes with production based in Belfast, Ireland.

This should give you plenty to chew on for a few days … while casting continues and we nail down a few more parts. Lots more still to come, including Osha, Shae, and Twyin.
