The Mountain: I’d take down McGregor in 10 seconds
Bjornsson, who enjoyed a slow-paced sparring session with McGregor in 2015, warns the Irishman that if they were to throw down for real, he could expect a similar fate.
Bring me shorts and put us in a cage, and I’ll fight him again. If I get a grab on him it would be over in 10 seconds.
When asked how many McGregors it would take to beat him:
Maybe five. [In the sparring session] I knew I could take him down, but I just didn’t want to break him,. He felt really light. I had him a few times, but I just didn’t want to break him. He’s quick and slippery, so it’s hard to get a grip. There were moments where I could have just messed him [up]. There’s a huge size difference between me and him, but I’m not used to getting punched. I’m no fighter; I’m wearing jeans and shoes. I just took my shirt off, and we were joking.

Bjornsson: I was ‘gentle’ with McGregor
In an interview with Men’s Health, Bjornsson talks about his sparring session with McGregor, before his victory against Jose Aldo. He says he had to be careful not to injure McGregor.
I was in Ireland shooting for Game of Thrones and my friend [Icelandic UFC fighter] Gunnar Nelson was training in Dublin with Conor. I asked if I could check out a session. I knew he had a big fight coming up, so I was gentle with him.
McGregor:
We squared off as if we were gonna do it. Then all of a sudden, he’s bouncing and I’m bouncing. Next thing you know, we’re having a full, bareknuckle body shot fight.
