Duff joins Tinder and gets her first date using the app.
It’s true. I’m on Tinder…I was sitting with my friends one night at the house and we were joking around. In my life, I have always had really serious boyfriends. I’ve always met people through work and I have never been on a blind date. What’s the worst that could happen…I have my first date tonight and I’m really, really nervous. We’re going bowling, so it can’t be too expensive. I like that. I’ve never dated just a total normie.

I play this girl, Kelsey Peters, who is pretty motivated and driven in her work life and her personal choices are questionable. So, it’s fun to play that for me The show is all about reinventing yourself, and if and when you get stuck in a rut, or in that wheel of life where you’re just going and not really happy, the show is kind of challenging that. F- it, we can do it.

Duff breaks her silence on her divorce in an interview for Cosmopolitan magazine:
It wasn’t working well enough to stay together, but there was still a lot of love involved,” she added. “It was just a slow set-in of us not being the match that we used to be. I’m lucky for the person he is and I am and how we decided to handle this.
I don’t want to sound bitter because I’m definitely not, but I don’t know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you can’t always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness.
Duff, Comrie divorce
Duff files for divorce from Comrie citing irreconcilable differences. Duff asks for primary physical custody of their son, but will allow Comrie to have visitation, even though sources say she’s concerned Comrie’s partying and drinking could adversely affect their child. Duff’s mom, Susan:

Duff appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Elle Canada magazine. She talks about her album, the media attention over her break up, and her show Younger.
I didn’t really mean to. My agent called me and was like, ‘I have a really good show; it’s a Darren Star show and he wants you for it.’ I said: ‘I can’t do that right now. I have Luca, and I definitely can’t move to New York.’ She told me to just read it. It was really, really good…. I either take a break or just slam myself full throttle, so here I am shooting the show and making a record at the same time again.

I lost my baby weight from boxing, and I have this awesome trainer, Gabe. I was already there, but I definitely shed, like, 10 more pounds from doing two-a-days for two or three weeks, an hour each session=. I live in a cul-de-sac, but I have a big hill, so I would run the hill, then box in my cul-de-sac.

Writes song about Comrie
The actress mentions writing a song about Comrie during a Billboard Pop Shop podcast. Duff’s album and the song about Comrie will be a lot darker and heavier.
I’m separated from my husband right now, which has been a very difficult thing to go through, but we have a lot of love for each other and we have this beautiful baby. There’s a song about Luca and a song about my separation and my love for this person, that maybe we’re not meant to be together, or maybe we are. It’s very, very personal.

Duff releases third and final installment in her Elixir Trilogy. The novel titled True follows the final chapters of a love story between main character Clea and character Sage as well as the adventures between Clea and her best friend Ben.
There is so much adventure and love in the book. There is a little bit for everyone so it was a big moment for me.
Luca Comrie born
Duff and Comrie welcome their son Luca Cruz Comrie into the world.
Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy. We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.
Devoted
Duff releases the second book in the Elixir Trilogy. Devoted follows Clea who tries to find and figure out if her soulmate Sage is alive or dead after being kidnapped. Elise Allen co-wrote on the novel with Duff.
She’s (Clea) going to team up with Ben again, who’s her best friend. They’ve ended on bad terms, so now she has to be the bigger person and go back to him and beg him to help her even though she’s really upset with him, and then the story goes on from there. They go on to have a really big adventure, and there’s a huge fight scene at the end of the book that was a lot of fun to write and a lot of new characters. It’s fun.
Expecting first child
Duff and Comrie are expecting their first child together.
We also want to share the exciting news that… BABY MAKES THREE. We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives.
Community
Duff guest stars on NBC comedy Community, playingMeghan, a mean girl who insults the main characters Britta, Shirley and Annie, but is taken down by character Abed played by Danny Pudi.
I think that it was fun for me to get to play a mean girl because it is so different than anything I’ve ever done before. But she is like – it was fun to play a character that’s super – acts super confident but is totally, you know, shallow and scared inside.

Elixir
Duff releases her first young adult novel titled Elixir. The novel is co-written by Duff and Elise Allen that follows a paranormal romance theme. The novel is on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List.
I have always been interested in the paranormal and afterlife, everything from ghosts to angels. I think that everyone has that curiosity of the great unknown. It is fun to add the paranormal element because there aren’t any limits to what you can do.
Comrie, Duff marry
Comrie and Duff get married. The couple exchanged vows at the Mediterranean Villa La Quinta under an arch of flowers and in front of 100 guests. The newlyweds spent their wedding night at the nearby historic San Ysidro Ranch.
Mike held his arm around Hilary for most of the romantic, candlelit ceremony, and they both looked extremely happy.
