Grand Hustle Records signs Iggy Azalea stealing her away from Interscope Records. Iggy is one of three artist contracted with the Grand Hustle label. Azelea says:

Tip reached out just to meet me, to say hello, and I found a position for him, conveniently, where he could be used. And he was down with it; that’s the truth.

T.I. recalls their conversation:

I think her exact words were: ‘It’s very smart of you to call me because I’m going to be smashing sh– for quite some time now and no one will be able to breathe if they’re not on my team. So it’s good that you’ll be here, so you’ll have oxygen.

Azalea confirms

I was like, ‘I’m going to be a bushfire that sucks up all the oxygen so nobody can breathe and you might want an oxygen mask.

I love her. I definitely used to sit in my bedroom as a young girl and lip-sync Jennifer Lopez songs, so it’s very cool to have a song with her on her album. She actually only asked me about two weeks ago, so I didn’t have to keep the secret for too long. When I opened on tour for Beyonce, I had to keep that under wraps for months, which really killed me. So this is a breeze.

Azalea responds to Nicki Minaj diss at the BET Music Awards in which she implies that Azalea does not write her own lyrics and she does.

I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online is hard to ignore. If I had won the BET Award that would’ve been great but it wasn’t my year & I don’t mind so you shouldn’t either. Generally speaking I’m un-bothered by anything that “happened” at the BET Awards and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time. I hate to see everyone exhausting themselves on my behalf over things that I’m still not 100 percent sure even exist & don’t matter.
