Isaac Asimov was an American author and professor born in 1920 in Petrovichi, Russian SFSR. Asimov is highly regarded for his science fiction books as well as his educational science books. He edited or wrote over 500 books in his lifetime. Some of Asimov’s most well known books include the Foundation series, Robot series, Galactic Empireseries, and Nightfall. He achieved honors such as multiple Hugo Awards, Locus Awards, Nebula Awards, and the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation Award. In 1992, Asimov died in Brooklyn, New York. He was married to writer Janet Opal Jeppson and had two children.
