After exiting a propeller plane, an accident occurred where she walked into the front of the prop. Struck on the left side of her body, Lauren’s hand, head, and shoulder area were hit.
Scruggs and her family write a memoir, Still Lolo, describing her life after losing her left hand and eye in a plane propeller accident. Scruggs describes seeing herself naked in the mirror for the first time after the accident.

Kennedy proposes to girlfriend Lauren Scruggs by using electronic candles to spell out “Will you marry me?” below her Dallas apartment balcony. Scruggs says yes. Scruggs:
I had gone out to dinner with my roommate Friday night. When we got back home, I opened the door and the whole apartment was filled with hundreds of white tulips. There was music on. I was so confused, I had no idea what was happening. I walked onto the balcony and saw the candles. He said, ‘I have a question to ask you, can you come down here?’ He is one of the most thoughtful people I know. His proposal was the most special night – from him thinking about my favorite flower to the people most important to me being there and his whole way of asking. I am so happy.
E! News co-host Kennedy marries fiancée Lauren Scruggs at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Dallas, Texas. E! will air the wedding in the special The Kennedy Wedding: Jason and Lauren Get Married on December 22. Kennedy:
