Manish Dayal

In this comedy drama directed by Lass Hallstrom based on the novel by Richard C. Morais, Dayal plays Hassan, second son to an Indian family in Mumbia, who is being groomed to take over from his mother as head chef in the family restaurant. When the restaurant is bombed and his mother dies, the family moves to Europe where his recipes and chef skills earn him a job in Paris. Co-starring Hellen Mirren, Om Puri, Charlotte Le Bon and Juhi Chawla.

Hassan is a very genuine kind of guy. There’s a humility to him and he’s somewhat naïve as well. It’s a fish out of water story in every sense. Just having the chance to portray this character, a man who begins this incredible journey and along the way is able to change the lives of so many people, was amazing
