Madoff comments on the death of Mark Madoff. She blames herself for her son’s suicide.
I just wish, until my dying day, that I had done what he wanted…I don’t know if it would have made a difference or not, but if I could change things, at least if I had tried, I would have felt a little better. I don’t know if it would have mattered.

Madoff hangs himself while his two year old son sleeps in the other room. Before committing suicide, he sends his wife an email, to have someone come and take care of their son.
Mark was in a really dark place, and he just saw no way out. The whole world believed he did these monstrous things, and he thought his family would be better off without him.
