We’re a fashion magazine – and this is art. We’re taking a risk – because Wonder Woman is a globally recognised icon and not just anyone could pull it off. But Miranda is an Australian icon herself. She’s the star who, time and time again, our readers say they most admire; a businesswoman, a wife, a mum. She is our wonder woman. And she has the presence to pull this recreation off.

Like this, what we’re doing right now, just sitting in a park, out in public, I can’t do this anywhere else. In Los Angeles, there are people camped out in our driveway every day, waiting to follow us wherever we go.

It had to be her. Our homegrown issue was always going to need someone who would help us celebrate our roots and we chose Miranda. Why? Well, she’s mega, obviously, but besides the attributes that have made her one of world’s most recognised supermodels, it’s her story that shows her as a shining example of what we breed in the antipodes.

I am quite dominant in my career, so what really works for me when I come home, is to relax more into the feminine side. If you’re really an alpha female, you don’t allow [your partner] to have the space to feel like the man in the relationship. Maybe I am too traditional, but men feel important when you ask for their help, instead of thinking you can do it all on your own.

My life is more balanced than ever. There was so much rejection in the beginning. Models are some of the most insecure people I’ve ever met. They’re constantly being told they’re not good enough. You’ve really got to practice loving yourself.
