After appearing in 65 episodes of the television show, Supernatural, Collins is given his first chance to direct. In the episode, a Knight of Hell uses a church as a front for collecting people’s souls which in turn, causes them to lash out at those closest to them.

Collins plays Dylan Morrison in the television show Ringer. He appears in the episode, Whores Don’t Make That Much as a man from one of the main characters past.Throughout the episode he is searching for forgiveness for an accident that he feels was his fault.
Collins launches the first ever ‘Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen’ (or Gishwhes.) The competition stretches across the globe, reaching people in over 95 countries, and promotes ‘death to normalcy,’ thinking outside the box and random acts of kindness. Gishwhes has broken four Guinness World Records and the grand prize is some extravagant, albeit slightly odd, trip with Collins himself.
Collins appears in a short documentary about the television show, Supernatural, the long running history of the concept of a soul and the trouble that the producers had coming up with a way to represent souls in the show as they were becoming a prominent part of the story line.

Collins publishes his first poems, Baby Pants and Old Bones. Later he performs the poem Baby Pants at a Supernatural convention in New Jersey.

On the television show NCIS, Collins plays Justin Farris in the episode Singled Out. His character was one of the lead suspects in the kidnapping of a police officer as he was seen driving off in a stolen vehicle with the police officer in the trunk.
Collins makes a one time appearance in the television show, Monk. He plays a character named Michael Karpov in an episode entitled Mr. Monk and the Captain’s Marriage.
Collins plays the seemingly normal Paul Bernardo who, along with his wife, get imprisoned for the kidnapping, sexual exploitation and murder of three girls. The film, Karla is based on true events that took place in Canada. Collins has stated on multiple occasions that he regrets taking the role due to the animosity felt towards both the film and the crime itself.
I felt like I was going to a loved one’s funeral every day when I came home. It was just so difficult for me. I’ve heard some actors say, `The scene is over. I’m out of it. A responsible, professional actor doesn’t take it home with them.’ But for me playing this role, it was impossible. I made every effort to leave it on the set, but I have to say some of it followed me home. And it took weeks to shake it after we stopped shooting.
