When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a like, I’m so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it’s hard. I feel that it’s become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes you know, nothing I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes.

My fascination with changing my look is a way to express myself creatively. Pink Friday, my first fragrance, is a reflection of me. While introducing a unique collectible bottle, I wanted to give my Barbz a special edition fragrance to wear, adding a bit of dimension and playfulness to the original scent.

It’s very weird because I’m just used to Wayne making fun of me, and all of Young Money boys making fun of me, so every time they yelled “Cut!” I was just being picked on.

If a dude was on a that song with me, everyone would’ve talked about it and they would [argue] ‘who had the best verse,’ but when I put a song out by myself. [It’s] because men run the hip-hop game. Let’s be honest, they’re the [radio] program directors, they wanna be able to rap stuff and they’re not gonna recite a female [verse]. They just feel funny and it is what it is.

It was both cool and a pleasure to work with Pharrell and Nicki. The song was written on the vine of, who is the ultimate party cat? We came to the conclusion that the ultimate party cat is no other than Rick James unanimously! He provided funky hits that played at every party!

We [me and Nicki] definitely have a lot of love and support for each other. She invited me to her party on The Re-Up, and I invited her to my party on my album.

I was on a world tour, a big feat for a female rapper. For the first time, I allowed myself to feel proud of where music had gotten me, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. You feel the need to pay it forward, which starts with analyzing yourself with a true desire to grow. I was praying every day, ‘You know what, Lord? I want to be a mom one day, and I want to start becoming the woman who I want to parent my child.’ I wanted all of the feelings of entitlement to leave me, because some people have this life for a year or five or 10 – and a lot of them lose it. I didn’t want to become a person who wasn’t enjoying the moment.

The Other Woman
Minaj is cast as Lydia in the film The Other Woman starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton. Directed by Nick Cassavetes the film depicts a wife and two mistresses that become friends after finding out about each other and seek revenge on the man they all fell in love with.
I’m anxious as hell to play opposite Cameron Diaz. Sometimes I’ve just been up, like, ‘Oh my God, please. I don’t want to disappoint myself in front of her.’ Would you believe I read Django? I loved that script, but I knew I was never going to be able to play that Kerry Washington part. I never even auditioned, but she’s fricking amazing.
