Starkey to drum at Glastonbury
Gallacher confirms Starkey will perform with the band on stage at the Glastonbury Festival. Noel is asked if Zak would be a permanent replacement:
If he can get us his dad’s autograph he’s in.
Noel quits
Noel has quit Oasis, saying he can no longer work with Liam. Prior to the breakup of the band Noel and Liam were involved in a series of rows. Liam casts doubt on the bands future:
He doesn’t like me and I don’t like him, that’s it.
Liam also admits he and Noel rarely spoke, they did not travel together and only saw each other on stage.
Attacker admits stage shove
Daniel Sullivan pleads guilty to assault causing bodily harm. Oasis was performing at the Virgin Music Festival on Toronto Island when the assault took place. Sullivan was intoxicated and only remembers attempting to climb over a fence. At the time of the attack Noel was facing the crowd and playing his guitar. Sullivan shoved him violently from behind. Noel suffered three fractured ribs when he fell forward on to a speaker. Sullivan turned and was about to attack Noel’s brother Liam Gallagher but was tackled by security.
Vogue interview
Gallagher gives an interview to Vogue magazine. He discusses Madonna, Kanye West, Maroon 5, and his album.
The most recent song I’ve written and completed is that track The Right Stuff, OK? And if you put it against the first song that I ever had out, which is Supersonic, they’re probably as far removed as you’re likely to get in the field of what it is I do. But if you’ve been on the trip with me, it’s the next logical step, I think.
Adventure of a Lifetime audio release
Coldplay release the audio for Adventure of a Lifetime, from their album, A Head Full of Dreams. The band says they have collaborated with Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher and Beyonce on the album, which will contain 12 songs, including a hidden track, X Marks The Spot. Parlophone:
Revitalized, they’ve made an album that’s bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments such as the deliciously ebullient first single Adventure of a Lifetime and the rocket-powered Hymn for the Weekend. Coldplay has never enjoyed making a record more than this one. Nor have they been happier with the results.
Noel Gallagher: Conor McGregor is ‘a dude’
Speaking on Absolute Radio Breakfast Show, Gallagher says he is a big fan of the Irish boxer.
The trash talking is why I love him. He’s a dude, an absolute dude. He makes me cry laughing. Charisma will get you a long way. If you’re talented and you’ve got charisma then the world is your oyster…That guy has got it and it’s like wow, where have you come from? What planet have you come from? It’s unbelievable…I’d love to meet him.
