Announces Shield

nvidia shieldNvidia announces the Shield Android console at GDC 2015. The device is for the living-room and not portable like its predecessor. At its core, it features the Maxwell architecture GPU, Tegra X1. It can play 4K content as well as seventh-generation console games , such as those for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The Shield features 16GB internal storage, 3GB ram, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. It retails for $200.

SHIELD will change the way we enjoy digital entertainment at home. It’s an incredibly powerful, efficient and advanced living room entertainment device. It’s the best Android TV experience. And it can transform into a serious gaming machine. It’s made to game.

Announces Titan X

nvidia-titan-xNvidia announces Titan X at GDC 2015. The graphics card has a 12 GB frame buffer and eight billion transistors. The card features a green light at its core cooler unit. Jen-Hsun, CEO:

This GDC is about VR … it needs an amazing GPU. And so the problem that I’ve got is this. If I launched our next generation GPU two weeks from now, GDC 2015 would be a bust. Now that’s a legitimate problem—not just for me, that’s a legitimate problem for the world.
