Defends band after video

Cowell defends One Direction after the release of the controversial smoking video. He says it is a private matter and hopes that fans remain loyal. In a red carpet interview, he refuses to comment on what advice he has for the group.

I can’t really comment on that. What I can say, however… is they are the hardest working boys I’ve ever worked with, they still haven’t changed. They’re really respectful to their fans, they’re a great British export

The Where We Are tour ticket price average of $232.98 is almost 3% lower than May’s$239.72. The decrease is said to be a result of the controversial smoking video released by the group. The drop is not large, however some fans have ripped and burned their concert tickets in opposition. The band currently has 30 more concerts for the year throughout North America. Most of the American ticket prices are at or above the current average price.

Fanfic book deal

Anna Todd, the author of the After series, will team with Simon & Schuster for a book deal. Todd began her One Direction fan fiction stories on Wattpad in 2013, attracting more than a million readers. The stories, influenced by Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray, follow an 18 year-old girl as she interacts with the band members. Simon & Schuster has paid for the rights to the series and plan to release the project in November. The company will alter the characters to avoid lawsuits, however many parts will stay the same. In an interview about her work, Todd says:

When you’re watching [One Direction] YouTube videos and going to their concerts and tweeting them, there’s always a desire for more – and there’s nothing like sitting down and spending time with them in the form of fan fiction.
