To sue O’Donnell
Trump announces he will sue O’Donnell for her The View comments. Trump refuses to discuss the details of the legal filing but stated O’Donnell will understand when she sees the reasons.
She says things that come to her mouth, she’s not smart, she’s crude, she’s ignorant and to be honest I look forward to sueing Rosie. I’m gonna sue her and I look forward to it. She’s really very dangerous for the show…Rosie will find out what we’re suing her for. She knows what we’re suing her for. The lawsuit is already in the works. It’s something I look very forward to.
Responds to O’Donnell
Trump reponds to O’Donnell’s criticism with a number of insults. On Fox News, Trump says O’Donnell is”a despicable person,” and that she is probably jealous because Miss USA likes him but doesn’t like O’Donnell.
[She is] disgraceful, a horrible human being, a terrible person … a loser. Her magazine failed. The ratings for her show were terrible. They basically threw her off the air. … She is not a good person. She makes false statements. Barbara Walters, in my opinion rues the day she put that animal on her show. She’s an extremely unattractive person who doesn’t understand the truth … She has failed at everything she has done…She’s a bully and she sucker punches people.
O’Donnel does not reply directly on the View.
Criticises Trump
O’Donnell, criticises and mocks Trump on The View about Trump wanting to give disgraced Miss America a second chance. She says Trump’s statements annoyed her, “on a multitude of levels’ related to speaking about moral issues.
He inherited a lot of money, and he’s been bankrupt so many times where he didn’t have to pay. … I just think that this man is sort of like one of those, you know, snake oil salesmen in Little House on the Prairie. . . There he is, hair looping, going everyone, everyone deserves a second chance. He’s the moral authority? Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair, had kids both times, but he’s the moral compass for twenty year olds in America. Donald, sit and spin, my friend.
Rosie O’Donnell interview
Seacrest interviews O’Donnell during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about the return of The Rosie Show on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
There is no better way to come back than with Oprah Winfrey, I can tell you that for sure. It’s been an amazing first week and week two is just getting settled and we’re just having fun. Rosie has been learning a lot from Oprah, including how to do a proper celebratory tequila shot. “I mean who knew that Oprah Winfrey could do tequila shots like a champ.

Returns to The View
TMZ reports O’Donnell signs a deal to be a host on The View along with Whoopie Goldberg. She hosted from 2006-2007 and returns for season 18. Reps for the show say there is no announcement yet.:
As we have said previously, The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively but at this time, we have no announcement to make and we are weeks away from making any type of announcement about anything pertaining to the show.
Hasselbeck against O’Donnell
Hasselbeck sounds off on news that former co-host O’Donnell is set to rejoin The View.
Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control ready to regain a seat at the View table.
O’Donnell first joined the show in 2006 and during her year-long tenure, she and Hasselbeck fought constantly about politics.
CBS: O’Donnell joins The View

Speculation about O’Donnell’s return began after McCarthy and Shepherd announced their departures from the show.
Calls Trump bully
O’Donnell says Trump has bullied her over the course of years:
I made fun of him on The View, which was the show we were supposed to do, talk about politics, talk about pop culture. And I made fun of him. And it seemed to upset him in a very, very intense way. He’s held on to it since 2006. And he has said horrible things about me every chance he gets. Probably the Trump stuff was the most bullying I ever experienced in my life, including as a child. It was national, and it was sanctioned societally. Whether I deserved it is up to your own interpretation.
Speaks out Cosby rape allegations
Host O’Donnell speaks out regarding Cosby’s rape allegations:
There are lots of allegations starting in 1969. There are many, many, many, and it’s very hard, I think, for any of us to discuss Cosby in this context. Because he is the beloved father image, the benevolent father that we as a society hold in some way. Even for, you know, anyone who has been the victim of sexual abuse to believe that somebody that you love or know could do that is a very difficult thing.
O’Donnell, Rounds divorce
O’Donnell files for divorce from Rounds. O’Donnell’s rep:
Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View.
GOP debate: Political correctness
At the first GOP debate in Cleveland, OH, Trump is asked by Kelly about his comments about women:
KELLY: Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.” Your Twitter account…
TRUMP: Only Rosie O’Donnell.
KELLY: Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?
TRUMP: I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct. I’ve been challenged by so many people, and I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness. And to be honest with you, this country doesn’t have time either. This country is in big trouble. We don’t win anymore. We lose to China. We lose to Mexico both in trade and at the border. We lose to everybody…And frankly, what I say, and oftentimes it’s fun, it’s kidding. We have a good time. What I say is what I say. And honestly Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that.
Responds to Trump
O’Donnell tweets a response to Trump’s comments during the first GOP debate:
