Wins Golden Globe

The actor wins his first Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of mathematician John Nash in A Beautiful Mind. He wins the award over fellow nominees: Will Smith, Kevin Spacey, Billy Bob Thornton, and Denzel Washington.

A Beautiful Mind is just a movie. It’s just a piece of entertainment at the end of the day folks. But hopefully it helps us open our hearts, gives us a little more understanding, gives us a little more compassion, and also, hopefully it gives us the belief that in our lives something extraordinary can always happen.
