The Edit interview
The actress models a series of high-end garments for The Edit.
I never exercised my whole life, but now I do yoga. I was always borderline chubby, because I like my food and frankly, I like my wine.
She adds that her career is going from strength to strength and says she is the busiest she has ever been:
The funny thing is that I really don’t even understand how [it all] came about. Maybe because when you don’t want something as much, you’re not desperate.
Allure cover
Hayek appears on the cover of the September 2011 issue of Allure magazine. She talks about her skin, her breasts and being at ease with her sexuality at 40.
As a woman, you should be more at ease with your sexuality when you are in your 40s. You are more self-assured about that part. And that’s the way it should be. If you are a girl who cannot walk in heels, it doesn’t matter how beautiful you are. If you look like a chicken that’s been spiked in the feet, it’s not going to be sexy.
O Magazine interview
Hayek gives her thoughts on the challenges that Latin women face in Hollywood in an interview with O Magazine.
Because there was no industry or parts for Latin women when I came here, there was really no competitiveness. Jennifer Lopez and I were the first, and I think Jennifer was my partner at the beginning. I think it was important for others to see two of us, because maybe then we could be thought of as a social phenomenon. Because she doesn’t have a foreign accent, Jennifer tried out for parts I couldn’t get.
