Instead of cooperating, Brown comes up with a plan to steal the money that everyone is looking for. The film also co-stars actors Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda, and Pam Grier. Jackson plays Elijah Price in the thriller Unbreakable. David Dunn has never been sick, survived a plane crash that killed 132 passengers, and is stronger than the average person. After hearing about Dunn, Price tries to convince him that he is no ordinary human being. The film also features Bruce Willis.
I think my only contribution was ‘purple.’ Only because I thought of Elijah as very regal, and that’s the color for regality.
Jackson plays Mace Windu once again in Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones. There is unrest in the galaxy and Count Dooku’s attempt to assassinate Senator Amidala fails. Master Windu and Master Yoda assign Anakin Skywalker to protect the senator while Obi-Wan Kenobi searches for the Clone Army. Co-starring Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, and Christopher Lee.
There are some epic battle scenes in this film, some of them starring me. I finally get to do my Errol Flynn thing. It’s incredible.
Jackson plays Sgt. Hondo in the action thriller S.W.A.T. After being arrested, French crime boss Alex Montell offers the public $100 million to anyone who can bust him out. Hondo’s S.W.A.T. team is called to escort Montell and must fight off all kinds of criminals who take the Frenchman’s offer. The film co-stars Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, LL Cool J, and Jeremy Renner. On his character:
He’s pretty much dedicated himself to the job. And he’s proud of his accomplishments as a cop.
Jackson plays Thomas Carter in the biographical drama Coach Carter. A sporting goods store owner from Richmond, California, goes back to his former high school to coach the basketball team. His strict program make them undefeated. However, Carter doesn’t believe his job as a coach was done unless the players also succeed in the classroom. The film co-stars Channing Tatum and Ashanti.
There was a lot of challenges in this particular shoot. It was kind of hard and tedious sometimes knowing that the kids had to learn specific basketball plays…
Jackson plays special agent Derrick Vann in the action comedy The Man. In an attempt to recover stolen arms, Vann sets up a meeting with the thugs responsible for the crime. A case of mistaken identity gets Andy Fiddler – played by actor Eugene Levy – involved and things quickly go from bad to worse.
We both come from the same place. Eugene did most of his work in SCTV and ensemble situations. I’d done all this theater work before I got into movies and ensemble situations.
Jackson plays detective Lorenzo Council in the crime drama Freedomland. He is on the search for the son of Brenda Martin, played by actress Julianne Moore. After Martin claims an African-American man is responsible, Council must now ease the tensions of the community in addition to finding the child. Moore on working with Jackson again:
I read everything with an eye toward whether or not there is a part for you and me in it…We had fun also when were in the same movie and were in the same room.
Jackson reprises his role as Jedi Master Windu in Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The Jedi Knights control the clone army and continue their fight against the separatist movement. Meanwhile, Darth Sidious continues to brainwash Anakin, which leads him down the path of darkness. The film also co-stars actors Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, and Christopher Lee.
I think I’ll be proud of the fact that I’m in something that will be analyzed, studied, revered, for the rest of history, I’m very proud of that.
Jackson plays FBI agent Neville Flynn in the action thriller Snakes on a Plane. After witnessing the murder of an American prosecutor, Sean Jones is escorted by Flynn to Los Angeles to testify against mobster Eddie Kim. In an attempt to crash the plane that Jones is in, Kim releases thousands of snakes on his plane. The film also stars actress Julianna Margulies.
I’m okay with snakes. I know what they are and I know what they can do. When I was a kid I saw a lot of them because I lived in the country.
Jackson plays Lazarus in the drama Black Snake Moan. Former blues musician Lazarus finds a young and abused woman on the side of the road and nurses her back to health. Her boyfriend misunderstands the care Lazarus gives to Rae, and tries to kill him. The film co-stars actors Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake.
I listened to the blues and I grew up listening to it, and I’m a fan of it, but I never played a guitar or made an attempt to sing the blues while I was doing it.
Jackson plays Gerald Olin in the horror film 1408. Author Mike Eslin, played by actor John Cusack, travels the nation writing books that debunk supernatural occurrences in buildings and hotels. To finish his next book, Eslin stays at the notorious room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel and strange things begin to happen. On working with Cusack:
John is this really amazing energy. So to have me and him in the same is almost like contrasting styles.
Jackson plays Champ in the drama Resurrecting the Champ. A young journalist, he gives a helping hand to a homeless man only to find out that the man is a boxing legend thought to be dead. Seeing his career break, the writer questions if he should write about his new friend. The film also features Josh Hartnett.
Being able to get a character voice and to hold on to it, you find that place that makes it natural.
Jackson plays Roland in the sci-fi action film Jumper. David Rice is a ‘jumper’ who can teleport himself anywhere in the world. This leads Rice into a life of carelessness and a feeling of invincibility. A government agency created to assassinate jumpers is led by Roland and their next target is Rice. The film stars actors Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, and Diane Lane.
I’m the guy that’s chasing the jumper… I just happen to be the guy who’s chasing the guy that people think they’re going to like more.
Jackson voices Jedi Master Mace Windu in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka must do what it takes to restore peace throughout the galaxy as the clone wars wage on. Their adventures bring them face to face with crime boss Jabba the Hutt. Voice-overs all also provided by Christopher Lee.
Jackson plays Officer Abel Turner in the drama Lakeview Terrace. He is a Los Angeles police officer who welcomes new neighbors into his community. After meeting the interracial couple, the distraught and racist officer decides to make the lives of his new neighbors a living hell.
I guess some people look at Abel as the bad guy at a certain point of the movie, but there are also points in the movie where you kind of relate to him…
Jackson voices Zog in the action animation film Astro Boy. A scientist creates a robot with the likeliness of his deceased son. Astro Boy sets off to become a superhero after his creator is not satisfied with his creation. The film also co-stars Charlize Theron, Eugene Levy, Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, and Kristen Bell.
Jackson plays Nick Fury in the Marvel action film Iron Man 2. The world now knows who Iron Man really is. Now everyone wants to get a piece of Tony Stark’s technology, including the U.S. government. But nobody wants Iron Man as much as vengeful Russian Ivan Vanko, played by actor Mickey Rourke. The film also co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Scarlett Johansson.
It’s one of those kind of films that a lot of young people are going to watch and they’re going to go home and pretend to be these characters…So it’s something to be proud of.
Jackson plays Henry Harold ‘H’ Humphries in the drama thriller Unthinkable. CIA consultant ‘H’ must interview a suspect to find out where a nuclear bomb is located. The prisoner will not break to the pressures of interrogation, so ‘H’ must consider the unthinkable. This film also features actors Michael Sheen and Carrie-Ann Moss.
Jackson plays P.K. Highsmith in the action comedy The Other Guys. Two disgraced New York police officers must step up to the plate, when two of the city’s best cops are killed on duty. Officers Gamble and Hoitz, played by actors Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, are not the most sought-after team on the squad. The film also stars Dwayne Johnson and Eva Mendes.
Highsmith, essentially thinks he’s immortal. He throws caution to the wind in a different way than any character that I’ve ever played.
Jackson plays director Nick Fury in the Captain America: The First Avenger. Steve Rogers always wanted to be a soldier, so when he is asked to volunteer for a top secret research project for the army, he doesn’t hesitate. Thus, Captain America is born. The film also features actors Hayley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, and Stanley Tucci. Director Josh Whedon on Jackson:

Jackson plays Logan in the action film Arena. David Lord, played by Kellan Lutz, is forced to fight for his life in an arena full of gladiators who battle it out for sport. Millions of online viewers tune in to watch these warriors kill each other in the most gruesome of entertainments.
Jackson plays Richie in the crime drama Meeting Evil. Family man John Felton, played by actor Luke Wilson, is in the midst of losing everything in his life. Richie, a serial killer, visits Felton and takes him on a killing spree across town. Felton must do what it takes to save his family. Wilson on working with Jackson:

Jackson plays ex-prisoner Foley in the crime thriller The Samaritan. Foley is released from prison after 20 yearsand meets a woman named Iris, played by actress Ruth Negga. Unfortunately, his past was waiting for 20 years as well, and is ready to begin where the ex-grifter left off.
It’s kind of interesting to take a guy who’s been out of society for 25 years and have him come back and try and negotiate changes and what’s going on around him.
Jackson plays reprises his role as S.H.E.I.L.D. director Nick Fury in Marvel Comics’ The Avengers. To thwart threats that Thor’s brother Loki has made on Earth, Fury creates the Avengers. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow and the Hawkeye team up on screen for the first time. Actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner co-star.
I knew enough about the comic franchise to know that at a certain point were going to get to all these guys being together…and Nick Fury being the glue that kind of puts them there.
Jackson voices Tendai in the animated adventure film, Zambezia. Kai is a young spirited falcon who longs for adventure and travel, but his father Tendai will not allow it. After hearing about the great bird city of Zambezia, Kai sets off on an adventure of his lifetime. Voice-overs for the film are also provided by Abigail Breslin, Leonard Nimoy, and Jeremy Suarez. Jackson plays Stephen in the western, Django Unchained. A German bounty hunter played by Christoph Waltz frees a slave named Django, played by actor Jamie Foxx, and asks for his help. In return, he agrees to help Django find his slave wife and free her as well. Unfortunately, she is owned by a ruthless man named Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Quentin writes the stories and he presents the character to me, and I look at it and say ‘okay, this is a good challenge, I’ll do it.’
Jackson voices Whiplash in the animated adventure movie Turbo. All Turbo ever wanted to do was to race in the Indianapolis 500. After a freak accident gives him the speed that he’s always desired, he decides to make his dream a reality. The film also features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Snoop Dogg, and Maya Rudolph.
Everybody likes an underdog, and a snail in the Indy 500 is an awesome underdog story.
Jackson is the newest spokesman for Capital One, promoting the new cash back card, dubbed Quicksilver. Other celebrities that promote the card products are Alex Baldwin and Jimmy Fallon.

Jackson plays Chaney in the action drama Oldboy. Joe Doucett, played by actor Josh Brolin, is kidnapped and held prisoner in solitary confinement for two decades. The day he is released, he goes on a mission to find answers and punish those who are responsible for his captivity.
I love working in New Orleans, I’ve worked in New Orleans five, six times. It’s always a good place to be. If you’re doing exteriors the city becomes one of the characters in the film.
Jackson plays Clinton Davis in the crime thriller Reasonable Doubt. Soon-to-be District Attorney Mitch Brockton, played by actor Dominic Cooper, is involved in a hit-and-run. Davis is convicted of Brockton’s crime for being at the scene, and now Brockton must decide Davis’ fate.
They’re both reasonably complex characters in a really complex situation, that’s not black and white.
Jackson plays announcer Pat Novak in the remake of the action classic RoboCop. OmniCorp is in the forefront of robotics and creates RoboCop in an effort to win the nation’s trust and profit from it. The film also features actors Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Joel Kinnaman. On how he hopes fans will react to this film:
Hopefully they will look at it and see that we have come a long way…From wondering what robotics was when the original was made, to understanding what robotics is now…

Jackson plays director Nick Fury in Marvel Comics’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Captain America, played by Chris Evans, fights modern criminals after a mysterious assassin attacks Fury. The Captain finds out that his enemy also comes from the past and looks oddly familiar.
My favorite scene in The Winter Soldier is the scene that’s not in The Winter Soldier,it was a scene I did with Scarlett…They said it’s going to end up on the DVD somewhere.
Marvel releases the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, the much anticipated sequel to The Avengers, early due to the influx of faux fan trailers. Although released a week early, Marvel took to twitter jokingly blaming the early release on a comic nemesis, Hydra.
