African penguins return
The San Diego Zoo exhibits African penguins for the first time in over 30 years. The two male penguins, about 18 months old, are living temporarily in the Children’s Zoo area while their habitat is being built. The zoo’s curator of birds, Dave Rimlinger:
They’ll be here for the next two-and-a-half years while we’re building our new state-of-the art-exhibit in Dog and Cat Canyon as part of a very large project called Africa Rocks.
