We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona. The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior.’
Launches line of baby toys

I saw how important developmental milestones are and how toys can help babies reach them — including with my own son. Expecting a boy
Shakira says in an interview that she and Pique are expecting a boy. Shakira’s parents Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid also shared the baby’s gender with Hola! magazine.
We’re very happy. She’s having another baby boy — a playmate for Milan.

During the World Cup, Shakira has been active in Facebook, and a photograph of her taken during the event received more than 3.5 million “likes”. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive of the social network, congratulated the singer in a comment on her page.
Social media and specifically Facebook has helped myself and other artists bridge the gap between the stage and the audience.
