67 postsWill Poulter is an English actor, born in London in 1993. During high school he appears in School of Comedy, which debuts at the Edinburgh Festival. The show is picked up by Channel 4 and runs for two season. He has also appeared in the films, Son of Rambow, The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader, We’re the Millers, and The Maze Runner.
Poulter is featured in the September 2013 issue of NKD magazine. He talks about school, working with Jennifer Aniston, and learning about himself.
I don’t think you truly know yourself without any life experience. But acting definitely help me discover different parts of myself and explore my own personality.
Poulter discusses playing his awkward character:
I was never the cool kid at school, but I guess no one is quite as dorky as Kenny. I have some similarities to him; I went through an awkward stage when I was younger, as a lot of people do when they’re not comfortable in their own skin. I can also relate to the way Kenny follows David, played by Jason, like a lost puppy. It’s slightly how I treated my older brother. I totally idolized him and followed him around, so I can relate to that for sure.
Poulter discusses singing the wrong lyrics to Killing Me Softly, attending the same school as Robert Pattinson, starring in The Maze Runner and We’re The Millers, and his love of hip hop.
It’s crazy to then go back to auditioning and hear, “No,” and the occasional yes. I haven’t heard yes a lot; I’ve been to a million auditions and have only been in six movies. So you can imagine how many times you hear no. I love the process of auditioning and having the chance to play a million different characters in one week. I love it—it’s great.
Poulter appears naked from the waist down in a brief scene in We’re The Millers.
On Twitter, I get comments regularly saying that I’ve seen you naked, and that We’re The Millers could have done without seeing your nakedness, but some people don’t realise that none of that was mine! I wasn’t actually born with some sort of genetic defect. That was a three hour prosthetic make-up job. So when Rawson told me that nothing I grew up with would appear on screen, he did keep his promise
Poulter plays the role of Kenny Rossmore in the comedy directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. Kenny is enlisted as the son of a fake family to pull off a drug shipment from Mexico. Co-starring Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, and Emma Roberts.
It’s a kind of comedy unlike you’ve seen in a while.
Poulter discusses We’re The Millers and whether acting takes courage:
I suppose so, but it was always less scary to me than school. I’ll just say it: I’m not the sharpest tool in the box. Being forced to go back to school is still a fear of mine.

Poulter starts shooting on the comedy:
Yeah, well we definitely rehearsed as a four before we shot. We had a week in North Carolina, a read through, spent time with one another. Once we were on set, we were naturally into it. We were confined to the boundaries of the RV for a lot of the time, and the studio. Otherwise, I was seldom in a scene without Emma [Roberts], Jen [Aniston] or Jason [Sudeikis].
