Minette says he wants to see less Clay in Season 2
Minnette says he wants to see less Clay in Season 2.
Everyone really loves each other and it really is a family now at this point. I want to see other people do more on the show. I want to see more stories from the other characters. Clay can take a seat on the sidelines.
Families blame 13RW for teen daughters’ suicides
Two California families blame 13RW for the recent suicides of their teenage daughters.
The young girls, Bella Herndon and Priscilla Chui — both 15 — took their lives just days after watching the show. The families of the girls, who did not know each other and attended different high schools, say the show had triggered the teens. Both girls hanged themselves. Bella’s mother, Donna, found her dead inside the family home three days before the girl’s 16th birthday. Priscilla’s uncle, Peter Chui, who she was living with, says:
I feel it’s dangerous for that small percentage of young adults who the show can become a trigger for them and I feel as if the show gives only one alternative for cyberbullying and other teenage issues.

Langford talks about her 13RW audition
Langford reveals how she auditioned for the 13RW part — which became her first ever part in her first ever show.
I had just started taking my first screen acting classes the year before when I turned 18, and at the end of that year, I signed with my US managers…I had given up drama school to go and test for [two other network projects that she didn’t get] so I was back home in Perth with no job, trying to figure out what I was going to do with my year…That’s when the audition came through. I put down a tape, one thing led to another, and they cast me.
Walsh: I know where Season 2 is going
In an interview with People, Walsh talks about 13 Reasons Why Season 2 where she continues her role as Hannah’s mother:
We’ve already started shooting, so I know where it’s going…The mystery just keeps getting more and more revealed…[Yorkey and the writing team do a] great job of playing with storytelling in a kind of Rashomon kind of way, so you see it from lots of different points of views.
Hidden Taylor Swift ‘cameo’ revealed
Selena Gomez continues her habit of incorporating Taylor Swift cameos into her work. An eagle-eyed fan notices that the cover of Taylor Swift’s multiplatinum album 1989 appears in the background of a shot in 13 Reasons Why’s tenth episode (Sheri’s tape). It appears someone drew the album cover as a project for an art class, and the teacher put it on display in the hallway.

Langford: Minnette is the “best first on-screen partner” ever

[He’s] the best first on-screen partner I could ever imagine working with. I also learned a lot from him, which I’m thankful for because he is so great in what he does.
Minnette chats about his Emmy nomination
In an interview with Gold Derby about his Emmy nomination for Best Drama Actor, Minnette chats about the series’ issues.
These are things that happen every day at an alarming rate, and the fact that we addressed it head-on, and unflinching, and we try to make real teenagers out of these characters, I think it’s what people really attached to.
Langford discusses her Emmy nomination for Best Drama Actress
Langford talks to entertainment predictions site Gold Derby about her Emmy nomination for Best Drama Actress.
Hannah wasn’t a character I could just pick up and take off. The further we went along, the more I understood about her and began to like her and care about her. She feels real and feels like she has more of a purpose than just being a character.
Prentice wants Bryce “to get what’s coming to him”
In an interview with People, Prentice says he understood the responsibility and did an extensive amount of research to prepare for his role as the series’ villain, Bryce Walker.
I did a lot of research. I had a psychiatrist and a sexual assault expert on speed dial…Like most people, I think it’s very normal when you hear about a case of rape or sexual assault to immediately be angry at the person doing the rape, which of course I still am. And it’s an important thing. But I think it gave me deeper insight into what’s wrong and why these things are happening — having to force myself to get into the mind of these people and how they’re capable of doing what they do…I know Brian Yorkey talked in an interview that he wants Justice for Bryce, so I’m assuming that means justice is coming for Bryce…I’m assuming he’s going to get what’s coming to him, which is great. I think we all want that. I think we’re all on the same page when it comes to Bryce facing consequences for the first time in his life.
13RW creator confirms Hannah’s story continues
What I can tell you is certainly one question I got a lot is, ‘well how can there be a season two when the story is over?’ I’m like, what story is over? And people are like ‘Hannah’s,’ and I’m like, well no, Hannah told her version of the events but there are at least 12 kids that have another version of those events that we haven’t really heard from yet, so I think there’s quite a bit more of Hannah’s story to tell.
I think season two will give us a look at a lot of things—a lot of the events that we think we know, we may learn are more complicated than we thought, and Hannah is even more complicated than we saw season one. I also think that for those that Hannah left behind, that story is just beginning. Their stories of recovery are just beginning. Clay and Olivia Baker are two people with the most amount of healing to do, and it was just in its very beginning stages when season one ended. Season two is also about healing and how we go on, because people always say you have to go on but how do we after something like that?
