Paris protests
Thousands march in French cities to condemn violence in Gaza, defying a ban on imposed by the French government on demonstrations in Paris, the Sarcelles suburb and the Mediterranean city of Nice. Demonstrators in northern Paris throw projectiles at police, who respond with tear gas and stun grenades, and demonstrators climb atop a building and set a car alight.
