Will not stream 25

Music streaming services, Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer, say Adele’s album 25 will not be available for streaming. Apple says her single, Hello, will continue being available for streaming; the album will be available for purchase on  iTunes. Spotify:

We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy ’25’ on Spotify alongside ’19’ and ’21’ very soon.

i-D interview

In her first interview in three years, with i-D magazine, Adele talks about the songs on 25, and about her life since her previous album. On whether Hello is a follow-up to Someone Like You:

Oh, God no. That’s over and done with, thank f-ck. That’s been over and done with for f-cking years. No, it’s not about anyone specifically. It’s about friends, ex-boyfriends, it’s about myself, it’s about my family. It’s also about my fans as well. I feel like everyone thinks I’m so far away and I’m not.

On the influence of Amy Winehouse:

I wasn’t going to [see the recent documentary]. I loved her and I went through my own massive grieving process as her fan. I’d finally got to a place where I felt really great about the impact she’d had on my life, in every way … I wasn’t really that into the saved voicemails and stuff like that. I felt like I was intruding so I actually felt a little bit uncomfortable and that ruined it for me. I love watching her, but I kind of wish I hadn’t seen it. But you know, I love Amy. I always have, I always will. Do you know what makes me super sad? That I’m never going to hear her voice again, other than how I’ve heard it.

She (Adele) put down most of the vocals. She had the lyrics ready in her head when she drove over. It was the most absurd thing. She’s fast, but it was really quite phenomenal.

adeleAdele appears on the cover of People to discuss losing her dad, heartbreak, and losing her voice. On her first real relationship:

It was my first grown-up, intense relationship. But things fell apart after more than a year, and though he didn’t cheat the breakup was still crushing. We fell out of love. It was more devastating than actually having something to blame it on. I locked myself in my house for nine months drinking four bottles of wine a night. That was probably the lowest point of my life.

Rolling In The Deep

Single Release

The artist releases her single, Rolling In The Deep, from her album, 21.

It’s me saying, ‘Get the f— out of my house instead of me begging him to come back. It’s my reaction to being told my life was going be boring and lonely and rubbish, and that I was a weak person if I didn’t stay in a relationship. I wrote it as a sort of ‘F–k you.

Single Release

The artist releases her single, Chasing Pavements, from her album, 19.

That song is about should I give up or should I just keep trying to run after you when there’s nothing there? I was only with him for four months but when I signed my record deal I had to write an album, as I hardly had any songs, so I wrote about him.
