Crab conservation efforts

The Audubon Society and the Department of Environmental Conservation are working with volunteers work to study and preserve New York City’s horseshoe crab population. The horseshoe crab is valued for its blood and for its utility as a research animal, and it is considered a delicacy in parts of Asia.
