Barack Obama
Barack Obama is an American politician born in 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the 44th President of the United States and is the first African American to be elected to the office. Obama graduated from Columbia University as well as Harvard Law School, where he was president of Harvard Law Review. Obama was a civil rights attorney and constitutional law teacher at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992-2004. Obama served in the Illinois Senate from 1997-2004 as well as the United States Senate from 2005-2008. In 2008, he defeated Republican John McCain in the United States Presidential Election and was inaugurated as President of the United States on January 20, 2009. Later that year, he was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. Obama and his wife Michelle have two daughters, Malia and Natasha.
