He was the host of Al-Bernameg, which was influenced by Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show. Youssef was named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013. Also in 2013, he won the International Press Freedom Award from the Committee to Protect Journalists. He is married to Hala Diab and they have one daughter, Nadiya Bassem Youssef.
