Cher is an American singer and actress born in 1946 in El Centro, California. She became well known for being part of the rock duo Sonny & Cher. Their most notable hits were I Got You Babe and Baby Don’t Go. Cher then went on to embark on a solo music career. Some of her biggest hits were Bang Bang, Gypsys, Tramps, & Thieves, Half-Breed and Dark Lady. During her film career, she starred in movies such as Silkwood, Mask, The Witches of Eastwick and Moonstruck. Awards she has earned include an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, three Golden Globes, and the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. She was formerly married to musicians Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman. She has two children from the previous marriages.
