Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese film director and animator born in 1941 in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.  He has directed films such as The Castle of Cagliostro, Castle in the Sky, Whale Hunt, My Neighbor Totoro, and Porco Rosso.  During his career, he has won multiple Mainichi Film Awards, Kinema Junpo Awards, Blue Ribbon Awards, and Nikkon Sports Film Awards.  Miyazaki is married to Akemi Ota and has two children.
