He was the screenwriter for movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Super, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet, and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Gunn was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for Best Screenplay in 2005 and won The Filmmakers Showcase Award for Slither in 2007. Gunn was formerly married to actress Jenna Fischer.
