Seacrest interviews Lloyd during On Air Wit Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her album Sorry I’m Late.
It took a long time to record this album because it took a long time for me to figure out what I wanted to do musically. And I think the title, Sorry I’m Late, is very fitting to what the album says.

Lloyd releases second studio album titled Sorry I’m Late. The 11 track record features collaborations with T.I. and writers Beth Ditto and Tove Lo.
My album got pushed back and I’m not happy about it. It’s all done, but I am currently in the studio for the rest of this week to try and find some more magic. It was meant to be coming out in November. Now I think it’s going to be early next year.
Seacrest interviews Lloyd during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and qustions her about her collaboration with Demi Lovato.
I actually remember being in the studio and calling her on Skype and her telling me what she would like and we worked together on writing my verse and it turned out amazing. This is very much a ‘girl power’-type of song.
Lloyd releases the music video for her single Sirens.
It’s almost like a mini movie. People have said to me it’s like a mini film. I wouldn’t really class it as a pop video. I think I’ve always been … as a kid my mom always said I was a little actress. You know, I always wanted to involve myself in stuff like that and I still do, anything showbiz and I’m involved.
Lloyd releases second single off her upcoming album. The single titled Sirens is a ballad and Lloyd says it is very different from her previous singles.
It exposes me. I feel like it shows the exact artist that I am. I’ve waited so long for a song like this. It gives me a massive opportunity to show people that I can sing. I’m not used to singing ballads; it’s what I did in the beginning. So it’s nice to bring that back. And it’s nice to have a song with a lot of meaning as opposed to previous singles where it’s all been a bit bubblegum and kind of childish. Now I’m trying to be a lot more grown up and show the softer side of me.
Lloyd leaves Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Music. Lloyd says that creative differences is the primary reason for moving on:
I think he (Simon Cowell) found me—I wouldn’t say disobedient—but a little bit (difficult). I have a specific thing I am reaching for, so I have my own idea of how I’m going to get it.
Lloyd performs I Wish on Live with Kelly and Michael from her album Sorry I’m Late.
Lloyd performs Want U Back during iHeart Radio Live promoting her album Sticks + Stones.
I really wanted to make it intimate. I want fans to feel like they’re almost on stage with me. Connecting with everyone in a room can be a difficult task. I really wanted to open the door a little bit and perform some brand new songs.
Lloyd releases single I Wish. The single is a collaboration with producers Shellback, Ilya and OZGO. I Wish also features rapper T.I.
I think any other person wouldn’t have had the same sort of impact as T.I. I think T.I. not only listens to it and then writes a verse about money, cars and bitches, he actually, you know, goes along with the story … He just fits it really well. And he’s not aggressive. He’s just really nice. He’s just T.I.!
Lloyd performs With Your Love during the Radio Disney Music Awards to promote Sticks and Stones.
Lloyd guest stars on Nickelodeon show Big Time Rush. Lloyd stars in the episode titled Big Time Scandal and has a duet with Big Time Rush character James.
I’m very nervous to see it, actually. I haven’t seen it and this is the first thing I’ve ever really done within acting. You know because I’m a singer I can kind of be let off a little bit if it’s rubbish. I had such a great time there. And it was kind of crazy because you see the other actors and actresses and they’re so young and yet they’ve been doing it for such a long time. They’re so experienced. And then someone like me who gets to be onstage all the time, it was quite difficult.
Lloyd and Becky G perform Lloyd’s single Oath on The X Factor. The single was written by Becky G for Lloyd.
Lloyd releases fourth and final single from her album Sticks and Stones. The single titled Oath features a collaboration with Becky G who wrote the song for Lloyd.
I wrote Oath for Cher Lloyd because there were really no best-friend anthems out there. Not only did she love it, she wanted me to rap on it, too! I’ve been a fan of Cher’s since Swagger Jagger came out. She’s so little, yet so in-your-face. That’s what I want to be like!
Lloyd performs Want You back during Dancing With The Stars to promote her album Sticks + Stones.
Lloyd performs Want You Back on America’s Got Talent from her album Sticks and Stones.
Lloyd releases third single titled Want U Back. The single is featured on her first record Sticks and Stones. The song also is a collaboration by writers Savan Kotecha and Shellback.
It’s basically a track from lots of different girls’ stories out there. A lot of people are telling me they can relate to the track and they’ve been in that situation, but it’s also got an element of fun in it.
Lloyd releases debut album titled Sticks and Stones. The 10 track record is a collaboration of writing and producing from Lloyd, Busta Rhymes, Mike Posner and Ghetts. The track also features Lloyd’s single Swagger Jagger.
People will never know the meaning of some songs because they’re too personal to explain, but if they like me and the song so much, they should know what it’s about. I prefer it when people have different interpretations of the song and use their imagination.
Lloyd releases second single titled With Ur Love. The track is from her album Sticks and Stones and features a collaboration with Mike Posner.
I actually get to sing (in this song) instead of jumping around like an idiot.
Lloyd releases her debut single Swagger Jagger. Lloyd collaborated with The Runners and The Monarch to produce and write the track.
It’s good, isn’t it? I didn’t really expect it if I’m honest—I’m not complaining though! I thought it would either go all the way or completely miss the top 20.
Lloyd finishes fourth in season seven of the United Kingdom’s The X Factor. A mash-up of the songs The Clapping Song and Get Ur Freak On as well as a duet with Will.I.Am are Lloyd’s losing performances after receiving the fewest public votes.
If everything fails, I’ll go into another area of the performing arts, such as acting, but that’s for when I get a bit old and don’t look or sound as good.
