The inevitable is that a new challenger needs to step up. Perhaps, someone we haven’t seen. There is all types. I am not naive enough to not look at the [deep talent pool] that is the tag team division. Even a team like NXT’s The Ascension would be a fitting little appetizer.

The Rhodes brothers appear on Talk is Jericho to discuss their WWE careers and tag teams in professional wrestling. Dustin comments on the beginnings of his Goldust character.
All the sudden the phone rings and its Vince (McMahon) and Bruce Prichard on the line. He says, “We have this idea we wanna run by you. We have this character called Goldust who is kind of androgynous,” and I’m thinking, ‘I don’t know what androgynous means.’

I had been going to WWE management about the Intercontinental title for five, six weeks, and I was met kind of roughly individually each time. But to me, it’s because they weren’t my age. It wasn’t because they thought I was stupid. I think it’s initially because they didn’t connect with my generation because they aren’t part of my generation.
