O’Brien tries out Tinder for the first time by creating fake profiles with Dave Franco and finding a match whom they meet in person.
This is what the Internet can do. It can bring a bunch of people who were strangers just an hour ago, together in the night, on to the street, outside a really creepy van, where they hold themselves a little too long, and then probably never see each other again.
World Cup skit
O’Brien sends Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to various parts of Queens, New York to interview avid soccer fans as they support their teams in the World Cup. The three-part skit features fans of Uruguay, Greece, Ivory Coast, and Brazil, among others.
Visits E3 2014
O’Brien drops by this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, which is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. He interacts with participants and tries out such games as Sunset Overdrive, Hyrule Warriors, Project Morpheus, and Forza Motorsport 5.
Mary Kay skit
During his show’s week-long residence in Dallas, Texas, O’Brien visits the Mary Kay headquarters and tries out being one of their beauty consultants for a day. Guided by an actual consultant, he learns how to use some the brand’s cosmetics and attempts to sell products to a group of women.
Texas Deputy skit
During his show’s week-long residence in Dallas, he attempts to become a Johnson County deputy. He seeks the help of Sheriff Bob Alford in learning the basics of law enforcement and tries out a few simulated crime scenes to test his skills.
Valentine’s Day skit
O’Brien visits a local flower shop in Sherman Oaks and tries his hand – without much success – at arranging Valentine’s Day bouquets. He meets a customer at the store and offers to make and deliver the bouquet himself.
Pawnshop skit
O’Brien drops by a local L.A. pawnshop and tries to get as much money as he can for his personal memorabilia. Some of the items include an autographed photo, painting, custom G.I. Joe action figure, and a giant bobblehead. His assistant Sona Movsesian helps him negotiate.
Interns skit
O’Brien spends some time with his show’s interns and gets to know what think of him. He asks them some questions about their complaints and duties on the show, and discovers that his assistant Sona sometimes uses his name to get the interns to do things for her.
American Girl skit
O’Brien visits the American Girl Place in Los Angeles and learns all about the brand’s doll selections. He suggests back stories for some of the dolls as well as a unique “play pattern” involving historical character dolls. He wines and dines at the in-house café along with a personally selected doll, which he names Agnes.
Lyft skit
O’Brien tries out the mobile ride-sharing Lyft for the first time along with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. They catch a ride and drive around Hollywood, grabbing some snacks at 7-11 and buying takeout at Wendy’s.
BlizzCon 13 skit
O’Brien attends gaming convention, BlizzCon 13, as a guest commentator in the World of Warcraft tournament. He tries to learn how to play the game without much success and proceeds to cover a match along with two professional announcers.
Horse Race skit
O’Brien tries his hand at being a horse race announcer at the Santa Anita race track in California. With some instruction from renowned sportscaster Trevor Denman, he tries without much success to memorize all the colors and names of the participating horses. He ends up calling the race using unconventional terms and mentioning only two of the horses’ names, to the confusion of the audience.
So I had all these mnemonics set up for all of the horses and I had to completely forget everything. It’s like being told seconds before the SAT that it will be in German. So I was horrified.
Gigolos mug skit
O’Brien investigates a stolen mug that belongs to his assistant, Sona. He interviews several members of his staff and eventually locates the mug and finds out that it was brought there by an intern of his show.
Southern Charm School skit
During his show’s week-long run in Atlanta, Georgia, O’Brien enrolls in a southern charm school to learn some proper etiquette and manners. Under the guidance of expert Cindy Haygood, he learns the correct way of shaking hands, dressing up, dining, and making conversation.
Civil War reenactment skit
During his show’s week-long residence in Atlanta, Georgia, O’Brien visits the city of Resaca to join the Civil War reenactment. He dresses up as a soldier named Pvt. Jedidiah Longtree of the 123rd N.Y. Infantry and tries to build rapport with the other reenactors.
Guinness skit
During his trip to Ireland, O’Brien visits The Dublin Guinness Brewery in the hopes of getting a free pint of Guinness. He tours the premises and learns all about the production process with the help of a tour guide and Master Brewer.
Halloween store skit
O’Brien visits a local Halloween store, Cinema Secrets, to check out some of the most popular Halloween masks and costumes. He chats with a few customers and comments on some of the store’s sexy costumes, fake facial hair, and kids’ costumes.
CBS local news skit
Conan visits the set of local Chicago CBS station WBBM where he trains under two news anchors, Bill Kurtis and Walter Jacobson. They share a few broadcast secrets with O’Brien, and together they come up with a new sign off gesture.
Chicago Blues Songs skit
On the second night of his week-long Chicago show, O’Brien visits Frances Xavier Warde elementary school and sings impromptu blues songs based on the children’s real-life problems. Performing with him is Basic Cable band’s leader Jimmy Vivino.
Stepdancing skit
O’Brien kicks off his show’s week-long run in Chicago by visiting the Irish-American Heritage Center. He takes a tour of the premises, in which he discovers six bars and an Irish gift shop. He also rehearses with a stepdancing class and performs with them on stage.
