Butler plays King Leonidas in the action fantasy film, 300.  The film tells the story of the battle between the Persian Empire and City of Sparta in Thermopylae, in 480 B.C. During this time, Persian King Xerxes pushes forward to conquer Greece but must first defeat the Spartan army of 300. Outnumbered and aware of their inevitable defeat, the 300 Spartans sacrifice their lives to buy the rest of the Greek forces time to prepare for war.

I know that when I made this film, I read a script that I really liked. It’s a great story based on a Frank Miller graphic novel that is based on a story that is 2,500 years old.
