Hillary Rodham born in Chicago

Hillary Diane Rodham is born in at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, the first child of homemaker Dorothy, nee Howell, and textile entrepreneur Hugh. For much of her childhood she lives in Park Ridge in a two-story home on Elm and Wisner streets with her parents and brothers, Hugh Jr and Anthony.

She attends Eugene Field elementary school, Ralph Waldo Emerson middle school, Maine Township East and Maine Township South high schools in Illinois. Her family encourage her to develop an independent, professional career.

I wasn’t born a First Lady or a senator. I wasn’t born a Democrat. I wasn’t born a lawyer or an advocate for women’s rights and human rights. I wasn’t born a wife or mother. I was born an American in the middle of the twentieth century, a fortunate time and place.
