Dr. No

The first James Bond film is released by United Artists. Based on the novel by Ian Fleming, the lead role is played by Scottish actor, Sean Connery. Sent to Jamaica to track down a missing agent, Bond discovers that the nefarious Dr. No has plans for world domination.  Bond encounters his first ‘Bond Girl’, Honey Ryder, played by Ursula Andress.  Andress causes a worldwide stir as her bikini scene walking out of the water on the Jamaican beach becomes an icon of the times.
