Leto speaks to Billboard magazine about the movie Suicide Squad and his part as the iconic Joker. Unlike his Oscar-winning role in Dallas Buyers Club for which he had to lose 40 lbs, this time he needs to put on weight.
Do you mind if I eat a little? I’m trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours – and I’m terrible at eating a lot.
Reddit $50m Series B funding
Altman leads Reddit’s $50 million Series B round with Andreesen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital, as well as individual investors including Leto, Dogg, Kushner, Livingston, Kevin and Julia Hartz, Mariam Naficy, and Reddit CEO Yishan Wong. Valuation is $500 million. Altman:
I’m willing to be very patient. I don’t have any particular timeframe in mind. I believe that the community is very valuable and that the value will continue to increase. Up to the company if they want to share cashflow details, but they run the company efficiently.

It was a lot of fun, and it’s kind of our little summer song. I think it’s good to do things that are unexpected. It keeps it exciting and collaboration is always an interesting thing. A couple of years ago, I invited Kanye West to sing on a song and everyone was like, What the?’ But it was really cool and it let to all these other collaborations with him.

The weight (loss) is great because it helps change the way you walk, the way you talk, the way you think, the way people treat you and I was playing someone who was dying of AIDS and was also a drug addict, so it was kind of a necessity. I stopped eating, literally. I had a very short period of time of which to do it and at the end of the day, it’s just math. You have to burn more calories than you take in.

Hes an innocent in a lot of ways. Hes a very simple person who really doesnt have the resources or the strength, ultimately, to handle the situation. I think hes very emotionally and intimately affected by the circumstances and situations that he experiences through his travels with Yuri.
