Michaels discusses health at 40, leaving Biggest Loser, and sexuality in an interview with Health. Michaels says she is in the best shape of her life.
As I’ve gotten older, I’m like, ‘I refuse to accept aging as a descent into decrepitude. And the irony is that at 40, I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been. There’s a confidence and sense of self that comes with age that I didn’t anticipate.
Responds to allegations
Michaels scolds the Los Angeles Times for publishing the article calling her a fraud, and plans on taking legal action if they do not retract the statements. The trainer says that she has two active certifications, one that never expires, and has developed her own continuing education program with sports medicine doctors.
They didn’t do any of their homework. They flat-out [lied]. It’s defamation, it’s libel, it’s full-on.
The newspaper publishes a correction stating the trainer’s credentials are up to date.
