Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events
Carrey plays Count Olaf in this family adventure directed by Brad Silberling. After they are orphaned, Klaus, Violet and Sunny are taken in by their cousin and stage actor Count Olaf, not knowing that he wants to steal their inheritance. Co-starring Jude Law and Meryl Streep.
Although I want to be entertaining, the bottom line is Olaf is not a nice person. He has to be that way. I said to the early on that I want them to laugh, but at the same time the danger has to be real or we have nothing. The movie is meaningless without real danger.
Jim Carrey interview
0 CommentsThe Guardian interviews Carrey about the work that he is most proud of.
I’m proud of all of my work, but proud is not really the word. It’s like having children: you can’t take credit for them you know, God makes great kids. If you’re part of something that’s really beautiful, like Eternal Sunshine, you don’t feel a sense of ownership about it, you just go: ‘I was really lucky to be there.’

Dumb and Dumber To
0 CommentsIn this comedy, directed by Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly, Jim Carrey plays Lloyd Christmas. Lloyd joins Harry on his wacky road trip to find his long-lost daughter. Co-starring Jeff Daniels and Rob Riggle.
There are a couple of things with Lloyd. You wack the tooth out, and you think really selfishly. You just go, “Mine! Mine! Mine!,” in your mind. Also, there’s the love between the characters. That’s important. You can get away with anything, as long as there’s real love between the characters.
