Tomorrow is our final wrap day for all the Hunger Games. One more day, and it’s a very bittersweet ending. I think people are going to party pretty hard. They’ve been shooting this for nine months now — we started in October last year.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Hutcherson reprises his role as Peeta Mellark in this sequel directed by Francis Lawrence. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark win the 74th Hunger Games and become symbols for revolution, so winners of the previous Hunger Games are assembled for the 75th Hunger Games, known as the Quarter Quell, to bring them back into the ring. Co-starring Jennifer Lawrence, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Liam Hemsworth, and Donald Sutherland. Hutcherson speaks of the romance between Katniss and Peeta.
I think it’s been a really kind of tumultuous, kind of up and down rollercoaster sort of situation. I think their love is far from perfect. Maybe perfect for the movie, but for them I think they could imagine it a lot differently, especially Peeta.

My family and friends back there are sort of jaded by the whole thing now. Where it’s just like another movie to them. Likes it’s no big deal. It’s kind of perfect for me. That’s exactly what I wanted it to be.

They just started writing the script recently. They hired Simon Beaufoy who wrote Slumdog Millionnaire to do the first draft. So that’s going to be great. Gary Ross is an extremely talented director and writer so I think he’s going to get in there with Simon and work on the script with him. They have a release date of November of next year. So we’re working towards that date. We’re probably going to start shooting sometime end of summer or beginning of fall this year.
