Winslet plays Anne Stanton, daughter of the former governor, in this drama written and directed by Steven Zaillian, based on the novel by Robert Penn Warren. Anne is caught up in Louisiana politics, beginning an affair with Willie Stark (Sean Penn), the new governor. Co-starring Mark Ruffalo, Jude Law, and Anthony Hopkins.

When I was the last person to be cast in this movie I literally felt like, you know,  I felt like I’d won the last golden ticket.
