Good Housekeeping cover
Heigl appears on the cover of the September 2014 issue of Good Housekeeping. She talks about moving to Utah from Los Angeles and being a mother.
I had big dreams of expanding our family, moving to the mountains and having a quieter life. Utah is spectacularly beautiful, the people are wonderful and kind, it’s an easy commute from L.A. — and there’s no traffic.
Marie Claire cover
Heigl opens up about rumors that she’s difficult to work with.
The thing that was my best friend for a long time [my career] suddenly turned on me. And I didn’t expect it. I was taken by surprise and angry at it for betraying me.
She also reveals she thought about quitting after her career slowed down.
Oh yeah, I had a moment where, I don’t know, I was thinking I’d maybe open a knitting store, get my money out of retirement accounts and live off that, live off the land. I had my moment where it all seemed so complicated and all I wanted to do was simplify.
Katherine Heigl interview
Seacrest interviews Heigl during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her role in the film The Nut Job.
I’m really excited about it because it’s the first time I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of an animated movie. And with two small children all we do every night, especially in Utah because there’s not a lot to do, is watch animated movies with our daughters. Like, it’s our family time so I thought, ‘This is going to be great!’ I can actually sit down with my kids and watch one of mine that was a big reason why I wanted to [do the film].
