The Art of Wrestling interview
Steen is a guest on The Art of Wrestling to discuss his earliest memories of professional wrestling.
I always knew something was up. My dad never called it fake and I appreciate that but he said, “They’re not actually trying to hurt themselves,” I just though, “Yeah they are! Look at it!”But I knew it was fixed.
The Art of Wrestling interview
Steen returns to The Art of Wrestling to discuss business in wrestling and being a zoo enthusiast.
I’m always worried I’m going to miss something. We were watching a wombat eat some corn and we missed an alligator jumping out of the water. I have to go and I have to stay there for a ridiculous amount of time.
Steve Austin Show interview
Steen is a guest on the Steve Austin Show to discuss Ring of Honor and having freedom wrestling business.
My contract with Ring of Honor keeps me from working other promotions that have I-Pay-per-views but aside from that I can go and do pretty much whatever I want.
Signs with WWE
Steen officially announces signing with WWE.
I went to the tryout camp and I got through it, and what made me stand out were the promos, where we basically had to sell ourselves verbally. That’s always been one of my strong suits — the way I talk and what I say. I make it count, and I think that went pretty far in getting me to where I am now.
Televised debut announcement
WWE releases a teaser video revealing that Steen (under the ring name Kevin Owens) will debut at NXT Takeover aired exclusively on the WWE Network on December 12th, 2014.
Injured in WWE debut
Steen suffers a broken nose during his debut match at NXT Takeover. WWE releases a video of him being tended to by WWE medical personnel.
Wins NXT Championship
Steen (as Kevin Owens) wins the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Rival by defeating Sami Zayn via referee stoppage.
I said I would fight anyone and everyone to make things for my family better and that’s exactly what I did. Who I beat or how I beat them is irrelevant.
