Headey appears as Queen Regent Cersei Lannister in the second episode of the second season of Game of Thrones, The Night Lands. Jack Gleeson plays her son, King Joffrey Baratheon, and
Peter Dinklage plays her younger brother, Tyrion Lannister. As the small council meets in King’s Landing, a messenger delivers peace terms from the Stark armies that demand the north be made an independent kingdom, and Cersei rejects them. She dismisses a message from the Night’s Watch warning that undead creatures are roaming north of the Wall of Westeros. Tyrion confronts Cersei about the massacre of the late King Robert Baratheon’s illegitimate children, and warns that she is losing the support of the people. Cersei responds that she does not care, and Tyrion realizes that Joffrey ordered the massacre. He jokes about her incestuous relationship with their brother Jaime, and Cersei replies that the greatest joke was when Tyrion was born alive and their mother died.
